Purpose
The driver app turns an assigned route into a completed delivery. A driver chooses the work date and origin, selects or takes over a truck, claims unassigned stops, loads and dispatches the route, then records navigation, payment, photos, signature, and completion at each stop.
Where to find it
- Sign in to the Driver Portal with the driver account.
- Choose a truck from Truck selection when the portal asks for one.
- Run the route from Route queue, open a stop in Stop details, and use Messages for driver messages.
Product locationDriver Portal > Truck selection > Route queue > Stop details
Prerequisites and availability
- The account must have driver access and an assigned or selectable delivery truck. A dispatcher must place work on the route before a stop can be loaded.
- A driver without a fixed location may need to choose the delivery origin before unassigned stops are shown. The location list comes from the locations available to that driver.
- Payment controls appear only when the delivery has an amount due or cash on delivery requirement. Card collection depends on the configured processor and its readiness.
- Photo capture and the signature pad are available from a stop’s detail view. Camera, file, map, and payment behavior also depends on the device and enabled integration.
Run a route
- Select your assigned truck. If an eligible default truck was saved for your profile, the app may select it at sign-in. If that truck is unavailable, choose another eligible truck. If a takeover request is shown, review it and choose Take Over Truck to accept.
- On the queue, choose the schedule date with Previous day, Next day, Today, or the date picker. Choose a work location when the queue asks for one.
- Review the stops. Claim an unassigned stop when it belongs on your route, and use Move Up or Move Down to adjust the order when those actions are available.
- For an existing paired trip with at least two stops, choose Shortest time or Shortest distance under Route objective, then choose Optimize. Review the new order. For other stops, use Move Up or Move Down when those actions are available.
- Open each stop, review the address and delivery notes, and choose Navigate. Use the separate dumping-location navigation action when the stop supplies a dumping address.
- Load each stop and choose Mark Loaded. The route’s Dispatch route action becomes available only when the queue reports that all required stops are loaded.
- At the customer, complete any payment collection and proof steps, then choose Mark Delivered. The lifecycle is Loaded, Dispatched, then Delivered.
Select or take over a truck
Choose the truck assigned by dispatch and select Complete Truck Assignment. If a default truck was set to select at sign-in and it still meets the normal truck rules, the app starts your session on it. If it is out of service, in planned downtime, outside your allowed location, already in another active session, or you lack a required qualification, choose another eligible truck. A manager sets this option under Settings > Driver Schedule > Driver Default Trucks.
A takeover request appears when another assignment must be accepted explicitly; choose Take Over Truck to confirm it. Use Change to return to location or truck selection, and Back to route to return to the queue without changing the assignment.
Load and dispatch stops
Claim Stop assigns an unassigned stop to the active driver. Mark Loaded records that the stop is on the truck. Reorder actions are unavailable at the ends of the list: the first stop cannot move up and the last stop cannot move down. Dispatch the route only after the queue indicates every required stop is loaded; while a save or dispatch request is running, its action is disabled.
Optimize stops inside your assigned paired trip
- Open an assigned paired trip that has at least two stops and has not been loaded or started.
- Choose Shortest time or Shortest distance.
- Choose Optimize, review the proposed stop order, and refresh the route to confirm the saved order.
This changes only the order of stops inside your trip. It does not change the truck, date, driver, or which orders are paired. Trips with more than 12 stops are not supported. If route setup or a delivery, capacity, or shift check fails, the current order stays in place. The regular move buttons can still be used when allowed.
Review late delivery alerts
Late orders appears below your route stops when an assigned delivery is past its deadline. Expand the list and choose an order to open the correct date and highlight the stop. An at-risk notice appears near the top of the driver view when the current estimate may miss the delivery window.
These alerts help you and dispatch review the work. They do not send a text or email, and they do not change the schedule. Ask dispatch to use the normal delivery controls if a truck or time needs to change. External-carrier alerts are for dispatch staff and do not appear in your driver queue.
Complete a customer stop
- Review the customer address and choose Navigate to open the device map. If the delivery includes a separate dumping location, use its Navigate link after confirming the location.
- Choose Charge Card for an amount due. Select the available processor, enter the receipt email when needed, and wait for the processor action to finish.
- For cash on delivery, mark COD Collected and choose the payment method, such as cash or check. The completion action remains unavailable until required COD information is ready.
- Open the signature pad when a customer signature is appropriate, capture it with touch or pointer input, and use Clear to retry the signature.
- Choose Choose photos or take a photo with the camera. Review the selected images, remove an image when needed, and wait for photo processing before completion.
- Choose Mark Delivered after the delivery is ready to complete. The app saves the final status and proof together.
Send a driver message
- Open Messages from the driver portal.
- Enter the message in Type a message…. The Send action is available only when the message contains text and is not already sending.
- Use Navigate to return to the previous driver view.

Expected results
The driver sees only the selected date and origin’s work, each claimed stop has a clear route position, and the status sequence remains Loaded, Dispatched, then Delivered. A completed stop contains the payment result when required and the proof the driver supplied.
Troubleshooting
- No truck or location appears: choose Try again. If the list remains empty, ask dispatch to confirm the driver’s location access, truck assignment, and in-service status.
- Optimize is unavailable: the queue needs at least two active stops, and an existing optimization request must finish first.
- Dispatch route is unavailable: claim or load the remaining stops and wait for each status update to save.
- Mark Delivered is unavailable: finish required COD collection, wait for photos to process, and confirm the stop has reached Dispatched.
- Card charge cannot start: select a ready processor and verify the device has the required payment setup. Use cash or check only when that is the customer’s actual COD method.
- Photo or signature is missing: reopen the proof section, capture the image or signature, and wait for processing before saving the delivery.
