Purpose
Set up pay-period boundaries and let staff clock in, clock out, and record unpaid breaks with an employee password.
Where to find it
- Managers open Settings > Operations & Advanced > Time Clock to set pay-period options.
- Staff open Time Clock in the merchant workspace to search for an employee and record clock actions.
- Use Reports to review and correct time-clock entries.
Product locationSettings > Operations & Advanced > Time Clock · Merchant workspace > Time Clock
Before you start
- Pay-period settings need admin or manager access.
- Clock actions need an employee record and password. The employee search and current clock state check which action is offered.
- Time-clock reports may allow managers to correct entries or add unpaid breaks.
Set up your pay periods
- As an admin or manager, open Settings > Operations & Advanced > Time Clock.
- Choose Pay Period Length: Weekly, Every two weeks, or Custom number of days.
- For a custom period, enter 1 to 31 whole days.
- Under Set date as, choose First day of the period or Last day of the period (inclusive). Enter the matching date.
- Read the preview. Check both dates and when the next period starts.
- Choose Save Time Clock Settings.
Example: for Friday checks, set a weekly period to end on Thursday. That period covers Friday through Thursday. Period dates and clock times use the store time zone.
Clock in, take a break, and clock out
- Open the Time Clock. Choose your employee name and enter your employee password.
- Choose Clock In when your shift starts. Check that you show as clocked in.
- Record your break or lunch using the offered time-entry controls. Choose the correct type and times.
- Choose Clock Out when you finish. Check the saved time.
- Tell a manager about a missed or wrong entry so they can review it.

Review hours for the period
An admin or manager opens Reports > Time Clock. Use Previous Period, Current Period, Next Period, or the period containing date to choose a period. Read the Employee Summary and Time Cards.
Payroll Hrs subtract unpaid breaks, lunches, and unpaid time blocks. Export with CSV or PDF. Email is available when set up. Changing period settings regroups reports. It does not edit clock entries. This report shows hours. It does not calculate wages, overtime, taxes, or paychecks.
Troubleshooting
- Clock action is unavailable: search for the employee, confirm the password, and check the current clock state.
- Period totals are wrong: verify the period start date and correct entries or unpaid breaks in Reports.
- Settings cannot save: use an admin or manager account.
