Purpose
Use Printing to choose where receipts and order slips print, what they show, and which cash-drawer actions the register can use. Print routing is set up for each store location and register.
Where to find it
Open Settings > Payments > Print & Slip to set print rules. Choose a register to set its printer.
Product locationSettings > Payments > Print & Slip
Before you start
- Set up printing from the physical POS station that will print. Keep its FlintPOS desktop app open and signed in.
- Assign the POS station to the location where it will print. Choose a working receipt printer on that station and save the register print settings.
- Receipt and order-slip routing are separate. A receipt is for the customer; a slip guides staff who pick or deliver the order. For example, receipts can go to the front counter while delivery slips go to a printer near the yard. You can send receipts and slips to different stations.
Set up receipts and order slips
- On each physical POS station, open Settings > Payments > Register Setup. Confirm it is enabled and assigned to the correct inventory location.
- On that station, open Print & Slip, choose its Receipt Printer, and save. Keep the desktop app running and signed in.
- In Settings > Payments > Print & Slip, turn on Automatically print customer receipts at the fulfillment location. Choose the Customer receipt POS for each location and save the routing.
- Set the order-slip rule. Choose Print automatically and set its scope to Delivery only, plus on-account orders when ordinary sales should not print a slip. Delivery and Will Call orders keep their own slip eligibility.
- If slips should print at the fulfillment location, turn on automatic order-slip printing and choose an Order slip POS for each location. Save the routing.
- Choose paper size, receipt content, order-slip layout, and any pick-ticket options. Print a sample to check that it fits and goes to the right printer.
Print during the day
- A fully paid regular POS sale can print one receipt automatically when receipt routing is enabled. Partial payments do not print the receipt yet. For example, if a $100 sale has only $50 paid, wait until the rest is paid for the automatic receipt. Use Print to POS only when you need an extra copy.
- Delivery, Will Call, and on-account orders can print slips when their slip rule and destination are set.
- Use Print to POS from Orders when you need an extra or recovery copy. Choosing Print here as extra copy at checkout also requests an extra receipt.
- On Tablet POS, completion does not print by itself. Choose the document and POS destination, then press Send. Choose Browser Print for the browser dialog, or New Sale to continue without printing.

Expected results
A fully paid regular POS sale sends one receipt to its configured customer-receipt POS. Eligible delivery, Will Call, and on-account orders follow the saved slip rule. A deliberate reprint creates an extra copy. Tablet POS waits for staff to choose what to print.
Troubleshooting
- No receipt for a paid sale: check that the sale is paid in full and automatic receipts are on. Check the location’s Customer receipt POS. Make sure it is online, signed in, and has a receipt printer.
- No delivery or Will Call slip: check the slip rule and the Order slip POS for that location.
- An ordinary sale prints a slip: set the slip scope to Delivery only, plus on-account orders and save.
- Extra receipts printed: check for an extra-copy choice or a manual Print to POS action.
- Tablet order did not print: choose a document and POS, then press Send. Do not complete or charge the order again to fix printing.
- Text is clipped: match the paper width and layout to the printer. Print another sample.
