Bring website inquiries into FlintPOS
Connect your website form so staff can find new leads in FlintPOS. Staff can then follow up without typing the form again.
Where to find it
Admins open Settings > Website Leads in the Website & Integrations group. The tab is available when the online leads tool is enabled.
Product locationSettings > Website Leads
Before you start
Use an admin account. Ask the person who manages your website to help. The website needs to send the form in the format shown by FlintPOS. Keep its shared secret private.
Connect a website form
- Open Settings > Website Leads. Turn the tool on.
- Choose Generate Secret if you need a new secret. Give it to your website manager through a safe channel.
- Copy the URL and the JSON or cURL example your website manager needs. These show where and how the form must send its data.
- Map the form fields to the names in the example. Include the lead’s name, email, phone, and message.
- Choose Save Settings. Send one test form from your website.
- Check that the lead appears in FlintPOS with the right details. Keep the secret out of public pages and browser code.
Connect the website form from its server
Turning on Website Leads allows signed requests; it does not build or connect your website form. Your web developer must send each form through server-side code with the shared secret. For example, a signed request with a customer name and contact details creates a lead and draft quote in FlintPOS. A form that only shows a thank-you message, or sends an unsigned request, will not create that record.
Keep the secret on the website server. Do not put it in browser code, where visitors can see and copy it.
Fields and choices
| Control | Guidance |
|---|---|
| On / Off | Controls whether incoming website lead submissions are accepted. |
| Shared Secret | Authenticates the website sender. Generate a new value if it was exposed and update the website setup at once. |
| Copy URL / Slug | Use the URL and slug shown by FlintPOS for the website integration. Do not invent a second path. |
| Copy JSON / cURL | Copies a request example for the website system. Keep the secret in server-side setup. |
Check the lead
A valid form creates a lead for staff to follow up. Check the name, contact details, and message. FlintPOS rejects requests that fail the access checks.
Troubleshooting
- If no lead appears, confirm the feature is on, the website uses the current URL and slug, and the secret matches.
- If the website returns a sign-in error, generate a new secret only when necessary, update the server-side website setting, and retest.
- If fields are blank, compare the website request with the copied JSON example and use the exact field names shown there.
- If spam arrives, disable the feature temporarily and review the website form's validation before turning it back on.
