Purpose
Flint Storefront shows your products on a public website. Customers can ask for a quote, request an order, pick up goods, or pay online when you set up those options.
Where to find it
Admins open Settings > Flint Storefront. Copy the public link there or open the site to review it.
Product locationSettings > Flint Storefront
Before you start
- Turn on Flint Storefront and publish at least one active product.
- An admin must change Storefront settings. Staff need permission to edit products.
- Delivery needs Dispatch Pro, a serviceable location, products set for delivery, and available trucks and drivers.
- Online card payment needs a supported payment service. Check the current add-on price shown in FlintPOS.
Set up the Storefront
- Open Settings > Flint Storefront. Choose Catalog only if your business already has a website. Choose Website + catalog to use the FlintPOS homepage.
- If you use the homepage, add your colors, headline, photos, contact details, and customer policies. Keep text and photo sizes within the limits shown.
- Finish the readiness list. Turn on Enable Flint Storefront when the page has no blocking item.
- Publish products and arrange categories. Choose what stock customers can see and whether they can order items online.
- Set up pickup, minimum order amount, order limits, dates, and delivery rules. Set delivery fees and no-delivery areas in Delivery Fees.
- If Dispatch Pro is ready, set pickup and delivery auto-approval, its limits, pickup hours, booking dates, and print routes.
- Save the settings. Copy the public link and try a request and a paid checkout. Check that staff see each order in the right list.
Catalog, requests, and paid orders
Choose Catalog only when your business already has a website that can link to the FlintPOS catalog. Choose Website + catalog when you want FlintPOS to host a homepage as well. Turning on Storefront does not publish products for you. Publish at least one active product and clear the readiness list before you share the link.
A quote request asks staff to review the items and follow up. Paid checkout uses the online payment setup. These are different customer steps. Even after a customer pays, the order may wait for staff approval if your auto-approval rules do not accept it.
Field reference
| Field | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Storefront format | Catalog only sends shoppers to the catalog. Website + catalog adds a FlintPOS home page. Choose Materials first to lead with products, or Business first to lead with your story. |
| Enable Flint Storefront | Turns the public site on or off. Keep it off until every readiness check passes. Saved product choices stay in place. |
| Brand color / Text on brand color | Enter six-digit hexadecimal colors. FlintPOS derives darker shades. Choose a text color that reaches the displayed 4.5:1 contrast target. |
| Homepage headline / Subtitle | Headline: up to 140 characters. Subtitle: up to 240. It sits below the headline. |
| About us and customer policies | About us: up to 3,000 characters. Each delivery, pickup, refund, or cancel rule: up to 5,000. These words show on the site. |
| Homepage photos | Main and second photos accept JPG, PNG, or WebP files up to 10 MB. Replace or remove a photo and use horizontal/vertical position controls from 0 to 100 for the crop. |
| Show project volume calculator | Adds one cubic-yard calculator above the catalog. Default depth is measured in inches from 0.25 to 48 in, in 0.25-in steps. Extra allowance is 0–100% in 1% steps. Rounding uses the Storefront order increment when set; otherwise the calculator increment applies. |
| Storefront order increment | Accepts 0.001–1,000 in 0.001 steps. It drives quantity buttons, typed quantities, and calculator rounding. Leave it blank to allow any quantity. |
| Customer inventory visibility | See Storefront units for product and alternate-unit choices. Stock left shows what is free after Storefront holds. FlintPOS converts other units. Backorder marks stock that may arrive on open purchase orders. Restock alerts need ready email or Text Messaging. Each alert sends once. |
| Product category order | Move categories up or down and save the order. Categories with no published products stay hidden. |
| Request mode and paid checkout | Without Dispatch Pro, customers receive product, delivery, and tax pricing and submit an unpaid request for staff follow-up. With Dispatch Pro and paid checkout ready, customers choose a live date, reserve capacity, and pay online. These are different workflows. |
| Will-call and delivery auto-approval | Separate switches control paid pickup and delivery. Will-call approval moves the order to Waiting Pickup and the loader queue. Delivery approval confirms the selected date, schedule, and loader queue. With either switch off, staff review the paid order. |
| Existing customers only | When this is on, new customer accounts always wait for staff review. |
| Maximum auto-approved total | Enter zero or more, or leave No limit. This only controls staff review. Larger orders stay in the inbox; shoppers can still send them. |
| Maximum delivery distance | Enter zero or more miles, or leave No limit. Orders beyond this stay in the inbox for review. Set fees and service areas in Delivery Fees. |
| Minimum online order | Set zero or more in $0.01 steps. In request mode, it checks item total. In paid checkout, it checks the minimum shown to the shopper. |
| Reserve inventory and capacity for 15 minutes | Paid checkout holds stock and delivery space for 15 minutes. This setting cannot be changed here. |
| Automatically print paid orders | For each item location, choose a same-location POS station or Do not auto-print. Only stations at that location are listed. |
| Same-day cutoff | Enter a local time. It applies only when the Storefront delivery lead time is 0 days; it does not change longer lead times. |
| Closed dates | Add calendar dates to remove them from online availability. Remove a date chip to reopen it. |
| Offer store pickup | Allows will-call without a delivery fee. Pickup tax uses the store address. With Dispatch Pro, mark each weekday open or closed and set its start and end time. |
| Online minimum lead time | Accepts 0–30 days. Zero permits same-day delivery when capacity permits. This Storefront rule is separate from the POS Dispatch Pro lead time. |
| Booking window | Accepts 1–180 days; customers cannot choose a date beyond this window. |
| Category order limits | Add up to 25 rules. Each limit can be 0.001 to 1,000,000, in 0.001 steps. All active products in the category must use the same main unit. FlintPOS converts other units before it checks. The exact limit is allowed. |
| Automatic load pricing | With Dispatch Pro, Storefront adds dump and pallet fees from Delivery Fees when needed. Each truck trip gets its own standard delivery fee. |
Expected results
The public link shows your saved brand and products you chose to publish. Customers can browse, request, or pay based on your setup. Paid orders may still wait for staff review.
Troubleshooting
- The site is not open: check that the add-on is active, Storefront is on, at least one active product is published, and the readiness list has no blocker.
- No delivery dates appear: check the location, products, trucks, drivers, booking dates, lead time, and closed dates.
- Customers can request but not pay: check that paid checkout and online payments are ready. Request mode does not collect money online.
- A product is missing: check that it is active and published. Online purchase is a separate choice.
