Purpose
This guide explains how customers use the public Storefront. They can browse products, request a quote or order, choose pickup or delivery, and pay online when the merchant has set it up.
Where to find it
Customers open the public link from the merchant. Staff copy it from Settings > Flint Storefront.
Customer locationPublic Storefront > Catalog > Cart > Checkout
Before you start
- The merchant must turn on Storefront and publish products.
- Pickup appears when a pickup location is open. Delivery dates appear when the address, products, trucks, and drivers can serve the order.
- Online payment appears only when paid checkout and its payment service are ready. Request mode does not charge the customer online.
Place an order or request
- Browse or search the catalog. Open a product, choose an available unit, set the amount, and select Add to cart.
- Open the cart. Choose Checkout to pay online, or Review quote to send a request. The choice depends on the merchant’s setup.
- Choose Delivery or Pickup. For delivery, enter the address and instructions. For pickup, choose an open location and date.
- Review the tax, fee, amount, dates, and available stock. A delivery with more than one truck trip may ask for a date for each trip.
- For paid checkout, choose an offered payment and finish the secure payment step. For request mode, select Submit Quote Request. The merchant will review the request and arrange payment later.
- Save the order or request number. Use Find Order or Find Request with the same contact details to check its status.
- If an item is out of stock, select Notify me when available. Enter your email or phone, give the requested consent, and select Set Alert.
A request is different from a paid order
Review quote sends the cart and contact details to the merchant. It does not collect money. The merchant checks stock, fees, and dates, then follows up. Checkout creates an order. Online payment is available only when the merchant has set it up and offers it for that order.
The store-wide order increment controls quantity steps in the public cart. If it is set to 45, the cart uses steps such as 45 or 90. If a customer enters 44, FlintPOS rounds it up to 45 and shows the total for 45. This setting does not give a customer wholesale pricing. Product wholesale rules are separate.
Field reference
| Control | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Delivery / Pickup | Delivery requires a serviceable address and available schedule. Pickup uses an enabled operating location. |
| Checkout / Submit Quote Request | Checkout can open online payment in paid mode. Submit Quote Request creates a merchant-review request with payment to be arranged. |
| Available date | Dates reflect current inventory, truck, trailer, driver, location, cutoff, lead-time, and booking rules when Dispatch Pro is in use. |
| SMS consent | Optional order-update text consent must be explicitly selected. Without consent, text updates are skipped. |
| Order lookup | Use the same contact information used for the order or request; the result shows payment and fulfillment status. |
Expected results
Paid checkout shows an order confirmation and payment status. A request shows a request number and tells the customer the merchant will follow up. Pickup or delivery details stay with the result.
Troubleshooting
- No delivery date is available: try a later date or pickup. Ask the merchant to check delivery locations, stock, trucks, drivers, and closed dates.
- Payment is not offered: the merchant may use request mode or may not have online payment ready. Submit the request if that is the option shown.
- The cart will not submit: check the minimum order, quantity step, stock, address, and required contact details.
- A restock alert will not save: check the email or phone number and the consent choice shown.
