Purpose

Loyalty rewards customers for eligible purchases. They can earn points, punches, or contractor credit, then use available rewards at checkout. Loyalty is off until you turn it on.

Where to find it

Open Settings > Loyalty. To see a customer’s balance or history, open that customer’s Loyalty tab.

Product locations
Settings > Loyalty.
Customers > customer > Loyalty.
POS or checkout > Loyalty rewards.

Prerequisites and availability

  • An administrator or manager sets who can earn and what they earn. Keep Loyalty off until you have checked the rules.
  • Choose an active customer during the sale so FlintPOS can add rewards to the right account.
  • Choose whether staff enroll customers by hand or FlintPOS enrolls them. A contact is required if the program uses the contact requirement.

Set up and use Loyalty

  1. Open Settings > Loyalty. Review the program summary and choose a Program Name.
  2. Choose a Preset. Simple points rewards spending. Punch card rewards visits. Contractor cashback gives credit based on Contractor spending.
  3. Choose Enrollment: Manual enroll, Auto-enroll customers, or Auto-enroll customers with contact info. The last choice needs a phone or email on the customer record.
  4. Set the name customers see: Point Name, Punch Name, or Credit Name. Set how much they earn and how many points or punches a reward costs.
  5. Set Reward Value ($ off) or Credit Value ($), and the Minimum Order Subtotal or Minimum Purchase Amount. Check the default values before saving.
  6. For point programs, choose Rounding and Reward Expiration Days. Choose which customer types can earn when that option appears. Contractor cashback is limited to Contractor customers.
  7. Turn on Exclude discounted lines if discounted products should not earn points. Turn on Require email or phone if you need a contact for enrollment. Choose Save Loyalty Settings.
  8. Test one eligible purchase and one purchase that should not qualify. Check the customer’s Loyalty tab to confirm the balance, then turn on Active when the rules are ready.
  9. At checkout, select the customer and open Loyalty rewards. Review the balance, reward value, and amount to redeem. Choose a reward or enter points, then select Apply or Use all. Review the updated amount due before taking payment.

An order earns rewards when the program is active and the purchase meets the minimum. Points use product sales after discounts and before tax. Delivery fees and tax do not count. A store credit payment does not earn points.

A Punch card gives at most one punch per customer each day, so two purchases on the same day still earn at most one punch. Contractor cashback is for Contractor customers only. For example, when Exclude discounted lines is off, a $100 item with a $10 line discount adds $90 of eligible spend before tax. Tax and delivery fees do not count, and a store-credit payment does not earn points. Use Earned Pricing when the goal is a lower product price after a category target; Loyalty gives points, punches, or credit instead.

Troubleshooting

  • Customer cannot enroll: check that the program is active. Add a phone or email if the rule needs one.
  • Customer earns nothing: check Active, customer type, minimum subtotal, and the discounted-line rule. Quotes and unpaid orders do not earn rewards.
  • Reward is missing at checkout: check the selected customer, program status, and points or punches that have not expired.
  • Reward cannot be applied: check its minimum purchase rule and the amount available for this order. Review the reward value before payment.
  • Balance seems low: check the customer’s Loyalty history and the earning rules. Tax, delivery fees, and store-credit payments do not earn points.
