Purpose

Choose which Inventory products shoppers can see and which products they can order through Flint Storefront.

Where to find it

Open Inventory, edit a product, and use its Storefront section. Change Storefront-wide unit display in Settings > Flint Storefront.

Product locationInventory > Edit Product

Before you start

  • The Storefront add-on must be active before customers can open the catalog.
  • You need permission to edit products. An admin must change Storefront-wide settings.
  • Before you publish, check the product name, price, category, and stock setting.

Publish a product

  1. Open Inventory, search for the product, and select Edit.
  2. Turn on Show in Flint Storefront when customers should see the product.
  3. Turn on Allow online purchase when customers may order it. A visible product can still be unavailable to buy.
  4. Add a public description, photo, or video link when the form offers those fields.
  5. For an alternate unit, choose whether customers can see and buy it. Set its public name, conversion, and order step.
  6. Save the product. Open the public Storefront and check its page, unit choices, amount limits, and stock message.

Visible does not always mean for sale

Show in Flint Storefront makes an active product visible in the catalog. Allow online purchase lets customers add it to a cart. For example, show a stone product so shoppers can read about it, but leave online purchase off while you set up orders. Hidden or inactive products do not appear in the catalog.

Field reference

FieldGuidance
Show in Flint StorefrontControls catalog visibility. Turning it off removes the product from public browsing without deleting the Inventory record.
Allow online purchaseControls whether the visible product can be placed in an online order. Visibility and purchase permission are separate.
Storefront video URLUse a supported public product-video link. Test playback from the public product page.
Alternate unit publishingPublishes an alternate unit as a customer choice; it does not create a second product.
Alternate unit online purchaseControls whether that unit can be ordered. See Alternate unit Storefront name for the public label; keep it consistent with the conversion.

Expected results

A product appears only when it is active and Show in Flint Storefront is on. Customers can order it only when Allow online purchase is also on. Alternate units use their saved public names and conversions.

Troubleshooting

  • A product is missing: check that it is active, in a visible category, and published to Storefront.
  • A product shows but cannot be ordered: turn on Allow online purchase. Check the stock and order limits too.
  • An alternate unit is wrong: check its conversion, public name, publish choice, and purchase choice.
  • A video will not play: use a public link from a supported video site. Test it on the product page.
